The city of Florina is located in the region of northwestern Macedonia in northern Greece. The entire center of the city is declared as “historical monument”, because of the historical remaining buildings and the general architecture of the city , that is declared to “be protected” from the “Antiquities Authorities”. Many neoclassic houses are still remaining in the shore of the Sakoulevas river and “protected’ as architecture monuments of the city.
Next to these neoclassic houses is located the plot of a private client ,in front of the shore of the river that crosses the city. The plot was an area of 350m2 and the project was to design a new 3-floor boutique hotel building, according to the architecture references of the historical protected Neoclassic houses. The main building is placed 4 meters away of the pedestrian street ,leaving an empty space of a small yard, in front of the building.
Following the clients wish, the Φ-Hotel is oriented to have views overlooking to the river. The main concept was to create a building with an All-day Restaurant in the ground floor, and a 9 room hotel in the upper floors. In the basement are placed a small “Spa and Wellness area” and a “Conference room” are designed.
The construction of the building is expected to begin in the next months, and the estimated completion day is in the year 2018.
