Kosmikon is one of the oldest restaurants in the area of Plaka in Athens underneath of the Acropolis. The building has been constructed around the year 1850.
The main aim was to respect the history of the building. The decoration on the inside is in harmony with the imposing power of the building, leaving it with the delicate architectonic elements that dominate, creating an atmosphere of a chic local restaurant.
Focusing on the enhancement of the neoclassic local restaurant, many constructions and materials that were hiding the history of the building, have been removed.
Because of the small size of the building the main kitchen is designed to be open. The front part of the kitchen has been decorated with an antique wooden oven. The laundry has been hidden behind of wooden panels with traditional handmade glasses.
On the facades of the building new lights have been placed and new colors have been painted.
