The restaurant Paramythia ('Paramyθίa') is located at the New Waterfront of Thessaloniki, on Megalou Alexandrou Avenue.
It was designed with the aim of transporting visitors to a traditional Greek countryside house, through a modern architectural lens. The interior design draws inspiration from Mediterranean and rural aesthetics, with strong rustic elements and the subtle presence of natural materials such as wood and stone.
On one side of the space, built-in sofas dominate, while in the central hallway, large monastery tables stand out.
At the heart of the restaurant, a blue bar with a ceramic counter, shelves, and ceramics is the focal point, while at the back, the traditional wood-fired oven evokes the kitchen of a Greek home.
The arches and built-in niches with colorful mosaic tiles create a space with depth, cultural reference, and aesthetic harmony.
Special attention was given to the ceiling, which combines exposed wooden beams and skylights, flooding the interior with natural light, while the rattan lighting fixtures add texture and character. The floor alternates between patterns, enhancing the diversity of the design.
In the courtyard, a wooden pergola shelters tables and creates shade, while the well in the center serves as a focal point. At the edge of the courtyard, a blue gazebo with a tiled roof hosts the outdoor barbecue, reminiscent of traditional courtyards in the Greek countryside.
