UBar is an all day café bar, located in Evosmos, Thessaloniki.
This is a store that has been very successful in recent years in the area and decided to redefine its identity and aesthetics after a very successful run.
A new building covering approximately 200 m² was designed and is to house the main part of the store as its largest area was an outdoor space covered with pergolas.
The new building includes two floors in order to create spaces for public toilets on the second floor, leaving the ground floor space free for the configuration of the cafe.
In this way, the space was designed with a modern aesthetic and with vintage and boho influences. Earth materials were used such as wooden ceilings while large wall surfaces were covered with dark gray volcanic stone cladding.
The new building is in direct communication with the old existing building, which is now shaped like a restaurant, with a completely different aesthetic from the rest of the store.
The restaurant was designed with a maximalist aesthetic combining different materials, with an emphasis on wallpapers and retro lighting.
A new fireplace is placed in the center of the restaurant, creating a new point of interest, while the space is flanked by a new cocktail bar.
The exterior space was redesigned to harmonize with the two new stores, both the restaurant and the new space.
