Apallou is an Italian restaurant located in the center of the city of Thessaloniki. This is a store that for many years was an all day cafe bar for which it was decided to change its use and aesthetics.
An open kitchen was designed with an emphasis on the image of the wood-burning oven which is in a prominent position emphasizing the preparation of pizza which is also the main product of the shop.
An aesthetic with very elegant materials was chosen, as the use of the store is both morning and evening.
An elaborate bar has been designed on the right side of the store, with a large and imposing metal bottle rack suspended from the ceiling.
The columns were covered with blue tile in a herringbone pattern. The walls were covered with tile surfaces as well as with ceramic tiles creating a high aesthetic in the space but at the same time keeping the Mediterranean feeling of the friendly and intimate environment.
Custom made sofas, lozenge type, were placed on the left side and an obvious wine cellar was designed in the background. A prominent wooden staircase leads to the basement where the toilets are located, while the same staircase also leads to the first floor where there is a private sitting room.
Special lamps and sconces were designed and placed on the walls and columns.
The ceilings were designed to give the feel of a stately home with blown glass suspended ceilings. In the low part of the shop it was used creating reflections
