The Avaton Luxury Hotel & Villas is located in the area of Ouranoupoli in Chalkidiki in northern Greece and more specifically in Komitsa beach. It is a five-star hotel with more than 200 beds and it belongs in the Hotel group “Relais & Châteaux”
In the existing complex, a new restaurant of 850 square meters with a capacity of 250 seats was designed, in order to serve the uses of breakfast with the use of a buffet, as well as a Michelin star awarded fine dining restaurant. Due to the summer use of the hotel, light colors and materials were chosen that exude a summer breeze combined with the feeling of a luxurious restaurant.
Due to the different use of the space, both a breakfast buffet and an evening restaurant, materials such as the wooden floor made of solid teak wood were used, giving the feeling of an ultra-luxury yacht. The pillars were covered with wood instead of paint, while on the back side of the buffet, white curved surfaces were used, giving a lighter feeling to the space, combining a simple and quiet background for the buffet products.
A large planter was placed in the center of the space for the purpose of placing plants, while two large olive trees have been placed on either side of the building on its outer side, giving the feeling of an open space restaurant.
Movable sunshades have been placed on the roof, which in the evening hours are collected, leaving the view of the evening sky free, creating an open air restaurant. A central bar has been placed near the buffet in order to use it as a waiting cocktail bar in the evening.
